We are currently supporting one of NZ’s largest banks in a search for a qualified or nearly qualified CA to join their Auckland team in the capacity of Senior Financial Accountant.

About the Role: Reporting to the ‘Senior Manager Financial Information’, you’ll be responsible for contributing to the successful and timely production of accurate financial information for the Banking Group, which includes monthly ledger close, general ledger reconciliations and the provision of insights supporting ledger balances or movements. By design this role, in time, will see you supporting the different business units within the bank allowing for regular variety in challenge and valuable exposure.



Key responsibilities:
  • Delivery of high-quality financial reporting.
  • Delivery of finance strategic/project initiatives.
  • Ensuring financial data is complete, accurate, reliable, relevant, and timely.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal and external rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Contribute to a highly engaged team.
  • Developing and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
 
Essential Background, Skills & Experience:
  • CA qualified would be preferred but those on track to becoming CA would be considered.
  • Demonstrable experience working to tight deadlines.
  • Good understanding of accounting standards with evidenced practical application.
  • Awareness of banking related financial standards and regulations would be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable with change and adaptable.
