We are working with an established and growth-focused specialist insurer who are looking to hire a Senior Financial Accountant on a part-time basis for a long-term contract, back-filling an internal secondment.
The position will encompass a broad range of financial accounting tasks, taking a lead role in the delivery of month end reporting, year end audit, annual and interim financial statements, as well as the production of regular Solvency Returns to RBNZ. Given the size of business and the amount of work required, it is envisioned that this role will require approximately 20-24 hours per week with a time-line of circa 9-12 months.
This role will require a background in insurance, and we would be delighted to speak to interested candidates who are CA or CPA qualified with experience equivalent to at least 10 years working in a similar position within the New Zealand non-life insurance sector. This experience will include preparing NZ IFRS Financial Statements, completing RBNZ Solvency Returns, audit, and, ideally, prior experience in managing staff. First rate verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to build and maintain positive relationships across all levels of the organisation will be fundamental to the success of this role.
