Opportunity for a 6 month contract with very competitive rates!

The role will cover senior level HR advisory with a lean into employment relations. the role is in a government sector with a strong community focus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide timely, consistent coaching, advice and support on all aspects of HR to people leaders.
  • This includes performance management, recruitment, induction, employment relations, remuneration, recognition and reward, and leadership development.
  •  Maintain regular proactive contact with the managers you support to ensure awareness of any issues at an early stage
  • Coach and advise managers through formal performance improvement processes and management of all disciplinary processes.
  • Work in partnership with the Employee Relations (ER) team to ensure managers are supported to work through ER issues.
  •  Contribute to the development of initiatives and improvements to current HR practices, employment practices, policies and procedures.
  • Support people leaders to build a culture that is aligned with values.
  • Work with the HRBPs to develop and implement annual action plans from engagement survey results.
  •  Assist with implementing outcomes of collective bargaining processes as and when required.

To be successful you will need to bring:
  • Significant relevant experience in the HR disciplines
  • Proven experience in leading/influencing in a comparably complex and sizable environment
  • Ability to coach, and mentor people leaders and other HR Advisory team members to enhance overall capability in HR practice.
  • Demonstrated experience working within the industrial relations environment, including experience in the advocacy and negotiation of matters.
  • Detailed knowledge of current NZ employment law and HR practices and can relate this to an organisational context
