About the Role:

The Senior Platform Specialist’s is responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, security, efficient operation, and administration of the Information Communication Technology (ICT) Infrastructure, systems, and databases.

The Senior Platform Specialist is part of the “Platform Services” team and provides operational tier 2 and 3 support in the Digital Services function and contributes to strategic initiatives and projects via several virtual delivery teams that implement product and service improvements across the current and emerging platforms.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Implement and proactively monitor performance to ensure the highest level of availability for all Digital Service Platforms
  • Design and implement regular platform checklists, and maintenance schedules to proactively manage platform health
  • Have a code first mindset to infrastructure/configuration delivery
  • Resolve operational Incidents, Problem tickets, Service Catalogue tasks and problems on a day-to-day basis following Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) processes
  • Present any changes to the Change Advisory Board to gain approval prior to any change been implemented
  • Take part in business hours service support roster as needed to ensure platforms are well supported and that time spent in scrum teams delivering project activity is focused on the sprint goals
  • Learn new technologies and share learnings of newly implemented technologies to peers
  • Enhance the build, install, support and release processes for platforms hosted on (Azure)and private cloud (Vmware) cloud maintaining the integrity of the environment

Skills & Experience:

  • Five years relevant professional experience and/or certification
  • Two years’ experience of supporting platforms hosted in Microsoft Azure
  • High degree of familiarity with industry trends and emerging technologies
  • Extensive technology operational experience ranging across Service Desk, Desktop Support, Systems
  • Experience with applying a disciplined approach to change and configuration management within a complex and diverse IS environment
  • Experience with ServiceNow
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Microsoft Cloud Security
  • Sound understanding of Microsoft SQL Server and Relational Databases
