A new Ministerial portfolio has been created to provide advice to the Minister on extreme weather recovery activities in Auckland and Thames Coromandel.
The team will provide administrative support and policy advice and will help deliver the Ministers priorities. The team will be located within MBIE and will work collaboratively across government, with local government, the business sector and a wide range of community groups.
As a Senior Policy Advisor, you will be responsible for shaping and delivering key projects and functions, working collaboratively in the team and across agencies. You will bring your proven policy, relationship and delivery skills to support the strategic Policy work programme.
In this role you will have the opportunity to:
- Lead complex and impactful policy projects
- Leverage the incredibly diverse number of teams within MBIE and other agencies to deliver on your projects and empower them to deliver on theirs
Skills and Experience Required
- Experience applying economic frameworks to a range of policy issues
- The ability to assist and challenge staff across MBIE and wider agencies to think laterally about policy issues and solutions
- Passion and ability to foster an open, collaborative environment that encourages quality, innovation, on-going learning and knowledge sharing
- The ability to develop and lead projects
- A commitment to developing the capability and expertise of others through coaching and mentoring
- Strong stakeholder relationship building, influencing and engagement skills to gain the cooperation and commitment of others
This role will suit a Senior Policy Advisor who can lead, scope, plan and manage policy projects and can contribute to the strategic agenda.
