The Senior Project Accountant will form a support partner relationship with a Development Team within Asset Development Group in order to meet the financial operational needs of this area.

The position will be embedded in the Development Team and work closely with the Director/Development/Delivery Managers to ensure vital information such as a Projects Forecast at Completion is accurate, robust and loaded into Oracle enabling all necessary reporting of Performance against targets, Budgets and forecasts (Governance, Cash Flow and Commitments etc.), on a monthly, annual and ad hoc basis.

Within such reports will be the provision of financial advice, support and commentary requiring the Senior Project Accountant to utilise technical accounting skills to identify, monitor and analyse forecasts and expenditure that will support decision making by both ADG and F&P. This includes bringing to the ADG’s budget and forecasting processes financial and accounting leadership to ensure they are completed with sufficient financial rigor, and then undertake the accurate capture of all essential information within all necessary systems. The complexity of the role is increased due to the volume and value of Projects within the ADG Delivery area. The Senior Project Accountant will be expected to identify and escalate any emerging issues associated with Projects being pursued.

The position is also responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the information for capitalisation of new assets and improvements and the disposal of existing assets that eventuate from Corporation operations This includes ensuring that the proper book and tax treatment is identified and applied in order to meet the Corporations obligations in these areas.
