We are partnering with a large Australasian banking group who are looking to appoint an experienced Risk and/or Compliance Manager on an initial 6-month contract. As part of an ongoing bank-wide risk maturity uplift drive, this role will sit in the consumer & retail banking division and act as a trusted first-line advisor and partner to the business and drive uplift on all risk and compliance activities.
This role will report to Head of Management Assurance and will partner with each of the business areas to assist, support and provide guidance and insights on all Operational Risk and Compliance responsibilities.
This includes:

Providing strategic and operational leadership in the execution of all risk management responsibilities optimising the risk/reward balance in line with risk appetite

Provide coaching on best practice risk management and drive appropriate change to ensure the balance between risk and reward is maintained

Develops and delivers risk management capability within the team through risk frameworks, policies and guidance/training

Assist with the delivery on the regulatory change programme to ensure the business is positioned to meet compliance once the regulators go live!

Contribute to Management Assurance management reporting for leadership teams, risk committees and/or compliance committees

Developing and managing the risk and control environment for risks and compliance obligations

Supporting a strong risk management culture through education and awareness
We are looking for an experienced risk professional or senior compliance manager (ideally 7+ years), who has a passion for bringing risk and compliance management to life across the financial services sector. You will have proven experience in developing risk frameworks and operational implementation experience with knowledge of compliance management, principles, and methodologies. You'll have the ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of audiences, including experience in facilitation and upskilling stakeholders across the business.
