We are looking for a Senior Web Content Editor to join a website refresh project team within a statutory body. The website refresh has been underway for the last 12 months as they work through a content audit, content refresh, design and development of a new website. The Senior Web Content Editor will play a key role in the next stage of the website project helping to migrate refreshed content to the new site, ensuring it follows best practice guidelines for web accessibility and plain language.

Key objectives of role:

  • Migrate content to the new website
  • Ensure content meets required quality standards for content design, plain language and NZ government web standards for usability and accessibility
  • Provide sound advice to the business on content standards and location of content within the site architecture

The primary responsibilities of the role will be:

  • Migrate content to the new website
  • Where necessary, edit content to align with plain language and web accessibility principles
  • Ensure migrated content is structured in alignment with page template designs
  • Work with the business to obtain necessary approvals
  • Build strong and productive relationships across the business to support web content delivery
  • Lead discussions with teams on their subject matter content and web requirements

Deliverables are:

  • Web content is migrated to new website within agreed timeframes to outlined quality standards
  • Changes to web content are discussed and agreed with business units
  • Any supporting policy and guideline documents are kept updated

The role requires the person to have the following skills and experience:

  • Extensive experience as a web content editor or publisher
  • Extensive proven experience using website content management systems
  • Sound knowledge of and experience in website content best practice writing and government requirements
  • The ability to meet deadlines and work independently
  • Sitecore CMS experience an advantage
  • Experience working on large website projects
  • Skilled relationship manager and effective influencer
