About the role:
Our client - a large freight/logistics organisation based out by the Airport seeks a switched on Service Engineer to get involved with the following.
• Attend to Service Desk Tickets for New Zealand Service Management Resolver Groups
• Provide Proactive Notification to key stakeholders for all Emergency Incidents, via email, verbal & ticket updates
• Co-ordinate with the internal IT team to plan and implement solutions for day to day activities
• Escalate problems within the department as necessary
• Provide Remote/On-Call Support when needed as per technical support on-call roster
• Maintain infrastructure & data and resolve problems either through personal action or by organizing resolution through a third party (Vendor / Supplier / Regional IT Support)
• Support where required the operation of telecommunications areas to ensure network and system stability.
• Develop, participate and comply with the requirements of Regional & Local IT Standards
• Develop, participate and comply with technical standards to ensure optimal uptime of infrastructure within New Zealand.
• Provide or assist in development of documentation for the IT Environment.
• Adhere to the IT Change Management Process.
• Develop, participate and comply with Disaster Recovery Planning
• Ensure all software is licensed
• Ensure all critical infrastructure is under appropriate level of maintenance
• Participate in project teams to analyze & implement IT solutions for the benefit of the business.
• Act as a project resource when required & execute work tasks managed by New Zealand Project Managers
• Keep abreast of emerging technologies that will maintain and increase our competitive advantage.
• To assist with planning, configuration, monitoring & maintenance of server infrastructure for optimal performance
• Act on System Alerts & Events
About You:
To hit the ground running you will need to have the following:
· Experience in a similar role providing Level 1/2 support to internal customers
· Ability to ‘think outside the square’ at times to resolve urgent or tricky requests!
· Have a passion for providing the best customer experience
· A keen eye for detail and excellent time management skills
· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving experience
· Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar; either completed or in-progress
· Excellent written and spoken English skills and a great phone manner.
