The Company

This mid-size contractor is experiencing strong growth with projects spanning $3M - $60M. They are stable with a long-standing company history, financially sound taking on quality jobs with good margins and avoiding jobs that carry high levels of risk or lower margins. They have a robust team of Directors with complimenting skill sets and industry networks that have made for a successful business. They are supported with a smart team of estimators, QS’s and inhouse accountants that ensure the numbers add up. Staff recruitment and taking on best fit is essential to their ongoing success.

As a result of increased project resourcing needs, they have capacity to take on a site management cadet/site foreman level candidate that will be supporting site managers, particularly with admin requirements. This contractor has robust training and development plans in place to allow positive career growth.

The Role

The role supporting site managers and working across some of their larger projects will have responsibility for the day-to-day management of all activities including health & safety, supervision of suppliers, subcontractor management, site admin, assisting in ensuring project costs are managed, and preparing reports.

Your background

The backgrounds considered for this role will include, either a carpentry trade qualification and at least 2 -3 years site experience across commercial or residential projects. You are coming off the tools and are looking for a structured career path into commercial site management. As well, you may also be studying a Bachelor of Construction Management or similar degree and be looking to gain further experience as a site management cadet and have been working on commercial sites in a junior capacity. You are a great communicator who can liaise effectively with clients, subbies and the team. You have an attitude to learn, the initiative and know how to fill in gaps and ask the right questions if unsure,
