Solution Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Solution Consultant / Solution Architect to define the future-state vision, architecture and roadmap for a major scientific and operational transformation programme.

This is not a traditional IT architecture role. We are looking for someone who understands complex scientific environments and can help shape what a connected, digitally enabled operation should look like into the future.

You will work closely with scientists, technical specialists, operational teams and senior stakeholders to assess the current environment, understand requirements and translate these into a practical future-state solution and transformation roadmap.

About You:

We are looking for an experienced consultant who brings:

• Proven experience working within complex scientific, testing, research or laboratory environments
• Strong understanding of scientific workflows, specialist systems, instrumentation and automation
• Broad solution architecture experience across applications, data, integration, infrastructure and networking
• Experience integrating specialist equipment, systems and data within complex operational environments
• Strong experience assessing current-state capabilities and defining future-state solutions
• Experience developing strategic roadmaps and practical implementation plans
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to engage effectively with scientists, technical specialists and senior stakeholders
• Ability to translate complex scientific, operational and technology requirements into clear and practical recommendations
• Strong ability to provide independent, vendor-agnostic advice focused on business and operational outcomes

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess the current scientific, operational and technology environment
• Define the future-state vision and target solution architecture
• Understand scientific workflows, specialist systems, instrumentation and integration requirements
• Work closely with scientists and a broad range of operational, technical and senior stakeholders
• Identify opportunities across digital platforms, data, integration, automation and emerging technologies
• Develop a practical transformation roadmap and implementation plan
• Provide recommendations around priorities, sequencing and future investment decisions
• Ensure proposed solutions are practical, scalable and aligned with future operational requirements

This role would suit someone who can operate comfortably across scientific, operational and technology environments, build credibility quickly with specialist stakeholders, and turn complex requirements into a clear future direction.

Please Note: This is an Auckland-based role requiring full-time onsite presence. To be considered, you must be in New Zealand and have the legal right to work.
