Our client is an essential service in the services sector in New Zealand. Long recognised for their environmental responsibility & sustainability.
As South Island Sales Manager you will be responsible for the daily leaderships & overall sales strategy in the region. Leading approximately 8 people across several sites.

This role includes managing, leading & coaching the field sales team of 9 in the South Island. Ensuring leads are closed out , pipelines actively managed & the team is offering solutions to a broad range of prospects & customers from SME though to large organisations. The aim to drive the sales team across the region to exceed sales targets.

As the S.I. Sales Manager you are the face of the company working closely with your team, the branch manager, field operations and the wider business. You will report to the National Field Sales Manager in Auckland. You will be well supported and have access to the wider business for resources as you grow this region.

Critical to your success will be:

  • Strong sales management; the ability to motivate, coach & identify sales opportunities with the team. Working alongside individuals to drive success
  • Work with customer enquiries, negotiation, presentations & contracts to deliver to sales targets.
  • You will have a minimum of 3-4 years in a sales management role with a medium to large organisation.
  • Understand the importance of new business acquisition but also the importance of retention of customer accounts & the value they hold.
  • Strong communication & positive people relationships. You are someone who enjoys new relationships & is a natural networker.
  • The ability to lead & share information at team & client presentations.

Critical competencies for selection will include:

  • Significant sales management experience
  • Leadership qualities that inspire & motivate. People want to follow you
  • Strong reporting capability
  • Performance management
  • Proven ability in managing sales cycles & account management strategies
  • Experience in the transport, services or similar sector
  • Confident communicator
  • Travel every 1-2 months in the region
  • A technical or relevant qualification
