The Strategic Investment Consultant is an Advisory position at Principal level. This  role works with and through agencies by providing ICT investment advice, assistance and support to implement the strategy for a digital public service. They provide technical expertise and will typically work on the more complex and sector-wide ICT strategy and business case development, investment and asset management planning.

This role is a key conduit link working to ensure and drive coherent system-wide outcomes.

Operating as a part of small semi-autonomous teams, consultants act as ‘change agents’ for government agencies, driving change and capability improvement in key areas. Investment Consultants work with other specialist consultants and the Manager Agency Standards and Integration to ensure current business and technology landscapes are well understood and inform ICT initiatives.

You will:

  • provide principal level advice and guidance,
  • explore investment opportunities and the likelihood of success, and
  • help co-develop and co-design the process.

You will demonstrate the following:

  • Significant investment experience OR data / strategic insights experience
  • Ability to interpret and present insights and investment advice to senior business leaders in diverse organisations
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

This is a full-time, permanent appointment based in Wellington CBD.
