Job Description

Come and join a leading government ITO where the objective is to create a more integrated approach to product development and management, treating learning products as a cohesive portfolio rather than separate programmes and content streams.

The role will oversee:
  • Learning and educational product strategy
  • Programme design and development
  • NZQA approval processes
  • Product lifecycle management
  • Cross-functional leadership across instructional design and project delivery functions
The key focus will be determining:
  • What learners and industry genuinely need
  • Which learning solutions are most effective
  • Whether delivery should be online, blended or face-to-face
  • How to position training offerings in a more competitive training environment
The successful candidate will need to challenge traditional approaches and develop evidence-based strategies focused on customer and sector needs, rather than organisational assumptions.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The organisation is open to candidates from outside the vocational education and industry training sectors.
Particular interest exists in candidates who have:
  • Senior learning and development leadership experience
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Experience managing product lifecycles
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong programme and project management capability
  • Experience leading significant organisational or product transformation
The ideal candidate will have worked in environments undergoing significant change and understand how to leverage existing organisational expertise while building future capability.
