Our search is to identify a Workflow Lead within the Community Relations team. Reporting to the Community Relations Manager, this role will lead a team of specialists that support the effective delivery of community relations support services that enable activity leaders to achieve outcomes that put the community at the heart of everything they do.

You will manage and allocate all community relations workflow based on current and future organisational needs.

Critical to your success will be:

  • A high level of client satisfaction
  • The Community Relations team Hub operates efficiently and effectively across available resources
  • Workflow is managed and balanced effectively
  • Tasks are delegated or ‘pushed back’ to the business in a way that maintains professionalism and transparency of community relations principles
  • Outsourced work retains visibility within the Community Relations team work programme
  • Resource is managed within budgets set
  • Community relations activity will be joined-up internally
  • Advice and guidance is actively sought by key stakeholders, internally and externally
  • Resource and demand is managed effectively while meeting business needs

Critical Competencies for selection will include:

  • A relevant qualification in engagement and/or communications, market research or related field
  • Public Information Management (PIM) trained
  • Relevant experience to a local government environment
  • A customer centric approach
  • Excellent relationship building and influencing skills, including a proven ability to work with and influence a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to work with media
  • Proven experience in managing multiple projects and people
  • Proven experience in working with multiple cultural and diversity groups including iwi
  • Strong ability to create and maintain networks as well as coach and motivate people
