Beyond Recruitment were invited to attend an outplacement session for staff being made redundant from one of our clients. We were asked to provide a realistic view on the IT job market, recommend the best approach on securing work, CV and cover letter advice, and discuss the services Beyond Recruitment can provide to candidates including interview preparation and coaching.

Mike Bell was one of the staff members being made redundant, and was finishing just four days after our meeting. I gave him my card and asked him to send through his CV. After doing this, I invited Mike in for an interview the following Friday (his last day at work) and took him through the Beyond Recruitment registration process. During the interview I realised a lot of his experiences matched a role I was recruiting for BCITO (Building and Construction Industry Training Organisation). I sent his CV to BCITO the same day, and come Monday, an interview was confirmed for Tuesday - the next day!

Mike took up my offer of interview coaching, and after advising him on what to prepare for, he came into the office on the morning of his interview. We went through his answers to some behavioural questions, while I provided feedback and advice.
