Trusted Advisor to the General Manager | Influential Role |Strategic and Commercial

The Role:
This dynamic, hands-on position reports directly to the General Manager. You will oversee the core financial operations of the business, lead a small finance team, and provide in-depth operational analysis to support performance and growth.
In addition, you will play a key role in strategic decision-making and be recognised as a trusted finance business partner, delivering high-level insights and guidance.
Main responsibilities:
- Business partnering across the business on all things accounting (that’s the cool part!)
- Provide accurate and timely month end and year-end financial reporting
- Financial reporting and analysis
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Cost control and efficiency
- Cash flow management
- Drive business improvement utilising business systems and internal controls
- Compliance and financial risk management
- Manage the finance team’s operational performance
About You:
You will be an engaging, professional individual with a strategic commercial approach to your work but also prepared to be hands on, and in the trenches with your team when required.
You must have the following skills/experience:
- Be bilingual in Mandarin and English
- CA/CPA/CIMA qualified accountant
- 2+ years senior finance experience in the NZ commercial sector
- Led transactional and commercial finance teams
- Strong stakeholder engagement, emotional intelligence, and presentation skills
- ERP systems and advanced Excel proficiency
- Industry exposure in Manufacturing, FMCG, Retail, or Distribution preferred
