This is a busy, but well functioning, close knit team - big on having each others back, achieving targets, and having fun along the way.
Meeting requirements in terms of experience is important, but so is team fit, a positive attitude, good energy, and an inherent curiosity. This team works across multiple internal functions and teams - so you will gain exposure to lots of subject matter, and their experts.
Experience:
- A working knowledge of, or experience in writing OIA responses and/or other types of official correspondence (drafting Ministerial Letters, WPQs, Event Briefings);
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, particularly the Official Information Act 1882 and Public Records Act 2005;
- An understanding of the machinery of government and ministerial processes;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for accuracy, detail and quality;
- Ability to identify and effectively mitigate risks;
- Excellent relationship management skills and the ability to work at all levels of an organisation; and
- An ability to self-manage time and remain calm and focused to deliver to tight timeframes when needed.
These are initially set to be fixed term arrangements until the end of the year, which a strong chance of extending into 2026, or permanent for the right candidate.
