We’re looking for two energetic Payroll Officers, to join a Payroll team of one of New Zealand's most crucial and influential public sector organizations.
As a Payroll Officer you will be a member of the organisations People Group, which provides advice and services to more than 12,000 employees across New Zealand. The People Services function exists to enable and support management and staff in their day-to-day people related activities and to deliver on “Our Business”. The Payroll teams’ primary objective is to ensure that all employees are paid accurately and in a timely manner.
In This Role You Will:

Ensure data entry is processed accurately in accordance with employment agreements, policies and legislation to meet agreed timeframes each fortnight.

Provide high-quality support and advice to staff on payroll and related employment condition matters in a timely manner.

Contribute to continuous improvement in the development of all payroll policies, procedures and ongoing compliance with legislation.

Prepare word documents, reports, submissions, proposals and communications using a convincing, plain English writing style.
What you will bring to the role:
-
At least one-year of previous Payroll experience in a team, or sole-charge environment, or
-
Experience in a banking, insurance or claims processing background

Flexibility in approaching a variety of situations and willingness to learn new skills

The ability to approach tasks, challenges and difficulties in a positive and energetic manner
