Accounts Receivable Officer – Temporary Assignment
  • Commencing 20 January 2026 to 30 June 2026
  • Working as part of a close-knit team within a large public sector organisation.
  • Wellington CBD location – Full time hours, Monday to Friday
  • $36.00 per hour plus holiday pay
Are you an experienced Accounts Receivable professional looking for an opportunity in a dynamic environment? We have a temporary assignment available for an Accounts Receivable Officer to join our client’s finance team and work with a large public sector organisation whose mission is to make a meaningful difference to New Zealanders now and in the future.

About the Role

As an Accounts Receivable Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring customer invoices, credit notes, and payments are processed accurately and on time. This position involves managing a shared inbox, processing invoice and credit requests, reconciling accounts, and assisting with credit control. You’ll also provide exceptional customer service to both internal teams and external customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process accounts receivable transactions, including invoicing, credit notes, and payment allocations.
  • Prepare and dispatch monthly statements to customers.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and assist with debt management.
  • Investigate and resolve invoice or account queries promptly.
  • Contribute to process improvements and team projects.
What We’re Looking For
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Accounts Receivable within a large organisation (ideally public sector experience).
  • Strong knowledge of Accounts Receivable best practices and high-volume processing.
  • Proven experience using ERP systems including proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.
