A trusted organisation in the Public Sector is looking for an Applications Team Lead to join and lead their Applications Team, ensuring they meet organisational objectives.
This person will lead a team of Applications Developers and will be accountable for the provision of application maintenance, enhancement and support services for internal applications and databases.
Key role requirements:
- Lead the team of developers, ensuring processes are followed, provide expert guidance and support, proactive identification of deficiencies in existing systems and seek out areas for ongoing improvement
- Contribute to the development and implementation of operational plans, overall annual teamwork plan, and manage outputs and performance to ensure agreed outcomes are met
- Promote effective communication between own team and colleagues in other teams across the organisation to ensure that activities are well coordinated and any issues with cross organisational impact are effectively resolved and managed
- Ensure contract administration and management, ordering, invoicing, and payment processes are carried out in a fiscally responsible manner

What you will bring to the role:
- You come from an Application or Database Development background and/or have successfully lead Application and Database teams
- Strong stakeholder and vendor management experience
- Strong communication skills – you are comfortable having difficult conversations and can translate technical requirements to non-technical stakeholders
Experience / knowledge in one or more of the technical skills highlighted below that are used across the applications group would be an advantage:
- Salesforce (development or systems administration)
- MS SQL Server 2016, PostgreSQL and My SQL maintenance, performance tuning and integration serves
- API integration
- Web technologies – HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML/XSLT, JQuery
- PHP. Python, Java, R
- Git, SVN and Maven
- Windows and Linux/Ubuntu/CLI/Bash
- SOA, Webservices using SOAP/XML and REST/JSON
