The Role
As Construction Manager, you will oversee a portfolio of small to medium commercial builds (typically up to $20M) and selected civil projects. You will lead and support a team of up to 10 Project Managers, ensuring excellence across safety, quality, programme, and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities

Managing multiple concurrent projects from planning through to completion

Leading and supporting Project Managers, Site Managers, Engineers, and subcontractors

Maintaining strong client and consultant relationships

Overseeing commercial and contractual matters, ensuring risks are identified and managed

Contributing to Pre‑Construction and ECI processes alongside the Pre‑Con team

Driving cost accountability and ensuring accurate financial reporting

Overseeing programming, reporting, and compliance
-
Upholding high standards of health and safety across all sites
About You
To thrive in this role, you will bring:

A relevant construction qualification (essential)
-
10+ years’ experience delivering commercial or industrial projects up to $20M, or smaller civil projects

Strong knowledge of the local subcontractor market and NZ construction legislation

Proven leadership capability with the ability to drive team performance

Strong programming, reporting, and financial management skills
-
Excellent written and verbal communication
