About the job:
The key focus of the role is to supervise a customs operations team. The team is on a rostered shift basis and ensures that shipments enter and exit the country in accordance with network procedures and transit time standards.
Duties:
Team supervision, management and support
- Co-ordinate shifts and ensuring staff levels to business requirements
Developing and implementing KPI’s Manage absenteeism and performance Ensure that customs agents maintain a professional image to both internal and external contacts Manage the work of a customs team to ensure that customs declarations are prepared accurately and lodged in a timely manner Plan, organize and build an effective, functional department Training and Coaching Safety and quality assurance
Customs Clearance Management
- Audit customs entries of direct reports to ensure compliance
Maintain a thorough knowledge of customs practices and procedures Ensure that customer databases are developed and maintained Make decisions directly related to shipment processing Prepare and lodge declarations with the authorities Ensure the accurate preparation of import and export customs declarations Resolve specific disputes or provide advice on technical issues with customers
What will make you successful in the role:
- Must have at least 3 years’ experience as Team Leader / Supervisor / Manager, preferably within transportation or logistics industry
NZ Customs experience would be beneficial, but not essential Apply online and become a part of this excellent team!
