About the role:
In this role you will guide and supervise the Reporting Team to prepare end of year financial accounts. You will ensure group policies are up to date, that they meet the requirements of accounting standards and legislation, that they are understood by stakeholders and the team, and that they are adhered to in the financial reporting. You will ensure the reporting team collects, processes, records, reconciles, complex financial information and you will oversee the preparation of high quality, accurate and timely statutory financial reporting.
Duties:
- Supervise the preparation of accurate, transparent statutory reporting on time.
- Mentoring and supporting a high-functioning team.
- Be a subject matter expert to the business on complex accounting areas such as provisions.
- Supervise the preparation of accounting papers to support accounting positions.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies, processes, and procedures.
- Respond to audit queries on more complex accounting areas.
- Critically evaluate the accounting for non-standard transactions and challenge where necessary.
- Experience managing reporting teams.
- Experience responding to audit queries on more complex accounting areas.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, relevant legislation and generally accepted accounting practise
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- CA qualification or equivalent.
- Big 4 experience preferred.
