We’re looking for a Hospital Manager with a mind for strategy and heart for people to come join an innovative private hospital based in Masterton.

If you’re looking for a new challenge that utilizes your ability to build relationships, develop strategy and lead operations, this could be the next role for you.

As the Hospital Manager you will lead and support the development of hospital services and provide strategic direction for the business. You will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of services and will work in partnership with visiting specialists/ practitioners, nursing, allied clinical resources and key stakeholders to provide service design and delivery.

As the Health Sector undergoes major reform, you will also be responsible for managing change, negotiating services with key stakeholders, identifying risks and developing risk mitigation plans.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing a team of highly motivated and competent staff and supporting staffs’ ongoing professional development

  • Supporting the development and implementation of the hospital’s strategic plan and business plan to maximise opportunities within the local market

  • Ensuring the achievement of the hospital’s financial goals in accordance with budgetary parameters

  • Identifying and managing risks and developing risk mitigation plans

  • Managing and negotiating contracts with key providers, stakeholders, and clients

  • Ensuring the optimal utilisation of all facilities, equipment, supplies and the minimisation of waste and forecasting clinical requirements

You will bring to this role:

  • Previous experience identifying and managing risk in a commercial or financial setting

  • Experience working in health service delivery (desirable but not essential)

  • Strong people management skills and the ability to influence and manage stakeholder relationships

  • The ability to think strategically, anticipate consequences and set realistic goals and expectations

  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in negotiating and managing contracts
