About the Role
As a People Advisor, you’ll provide trusted advice, coaching and support to leaders and employees across a wide range of employment and people‑related matters. Working within a genuinely collaborative People & Operations function, you’ll help deliver high‑quality HR services that enable a high‑performance culture and an exceptional employee experience.
This role offers the opportunity to build strong stakeholder relationships, support people leaders to navigate complex people matters, and contribute to organisation‑wide people programmes and change initiatives. You will be strongly supported to develop your Employment Relations capability within a psychologically safe environment, and a high-performing team led by a fantastic Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide timely, practical HR advice to leaders on performance, ER, remuneration, recognition, and people processes.
- Coach managers on people best practice and support them to manage risks and make effective decisions.
- Support the implementation of people strategies, policies, and cyclical HR processes.
- Partner with wider P&C specialists to deliver consistent, high‑quality people solutions.
- Contribute to people‑related projects, process improvements, and change management activities.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice.
- Build strong, trusted relationships across the organisation, acting as a proactive and accessible partner.
We’re seeking a skilled HR generalist who brings:
- Experience in an HR or ER advisory role within a complex organisation.
- Strong relationship‑management capability and the ability to build trust quickly.
- Confidence coaching and supporting leaders through people issues, including formal processes.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interpret policy with sound judgement.
- A customer‑centric, solutions‑focused approach.
- Resilience, adaptability, and a growth mindset.
- An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and te ao Māori, or a willingness to develop in this area.
Please note: You must be able to obtain and maintain a New Zealand Government security clearance (NZ citizenship or permanent residency required).
