Human Resources Business Partner Contract
Location: Christchurch
Start: ASAP
Contract Length: 3 months

Are you an experienced HR professional who thrives in a hands‑on, fast‑paced environment? We’re seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join a dynamic organisation on a short‑term contract, supporting leaders and employees across a range of people-related matters.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building strong relationships, delivering practical HR advice, and supporting a positive, safe, and high‑performing workplace culture.

About the Role

As the HRBP, you will provide day‑to‑day operational HR support to leaders - primarily Tier 4 and below - across the full employee lifecycle. You’ll help managers navigate people matters confidently and constructively, while supporting broader organisational initiatives and change activity.

You’ll act as a key link between HR functional teams and the business, helping embed policies, processes, and organisational culture, and contributing to capability building and performance uplift.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Providing timely, trusted HR advice across generalist HR matters
  • Supporting leaders with performance, conduct, ER matters, and case management
  • Building strong working relationships to ensure HR solutions meet operational needs
  • Assisting with HR initiatives, policy rollouts, and change programmes
  • Supporting an engaged and inclusive culture, with strong focus on safety and wellbeing
  • Collaborating with HR Centres of Expertise and other internal stakeholders
  • Ensuring compliance with employment legislation, organisational frameworks, and best practice

What You’ll Bring
  • Significant generalist HR experience in advisory or business partnering roles
  • Solid working knowledge of New Zealand employment law and health & safety legislation
  • Proven experience managing casework, performance issues, and investigations
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of operational leaders across a large organisation
  • Strong communication skills, sound judgement, and a calm, professional approach
  • Collaborative, relationship‑oriented working style
  • A continuous improvement mindset and a desire to deliver practical, high‑quality HR support

Why This Role?

This is a great opportunity to step into a meaningful, people‑focused contract role where your expertise will make an immediate impact. You’ll join a supportive team, work closely with leaders, and contribute to an organisation undergoing significant transformation.

If you're available NOW and based in Christchurch (or open to working from Christchurch for the contract duration) please get in touch with your CV at Kirsty.Clarke@beyond.co.nz or 027 222 8488.
