We’re seeking a qualified Accounting Generalist to join a well-established New Zealand-owned business, based in Lower Hutt. This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on financial reporting, audit and tax compliance, and internal performance analysis. You’ll be part of a collaborative finance team supporting a business that values sustainability, safety, and continuous improvement.
The organisation delivers essential services across defence, local government, retail, and Antarctic operations, keeping critical infrastructure running smoothly behind the scenes.
What you’ll be doing:
- Delivering accurate and timely month-end and year-end financial processes
- Preparing statutory financial statements and supporting external audits
- Liaising with PwC on tax return preparation and finalisation
- Managing the fixed asset register and maintaining FMIS integrity
- Overseeing GST, FBT, and cash flow reporting
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Contributing to Board and ELT reporting packs
- Providing financial data and templates to cost centre managers and business partners
What we’re looking for:
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CA or CPA qualified (or equivalent)
- Experience to preparing financial statements for Tier 1 for-profit entities
- Strong understanding of NZ IFRS and statutory reporting requirements
- Excellent communication, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams
- Able to meet client security clearance requirements
