I’m looking for an intermediate Business Analyst to join a supportive team in the public sector.

About the role:

The Business Analyst’s primary role is to provide detailed analysis in support of the team’s business-as-usual and change activities. They do this by building trusted relationships within the teams and by working closely with people from other parts of the business to achieve planned outcomes. While the Business Analyst understands information and technical systems, their main focus is on business operations.

Core responsibilities:

  • Complete detailed analysis of business-as-usual and business change activities, including identification and classification of opportunities and problems
  • Support solution design activities including analytical support to identify and recommend improvements to the overall planning and reporting capability of the business group
  • Support the business and facilitate gap analyses
  • Support in measuring and monitoring the achievement of objectives, and take appropriate action where the achievement of objectives is at risk
  • Facilitate and help with the definition and documentation of business requirements for business change initiatives
  • Support with Business Continuity Planning processes
  • Develop and support high quality business models and analyses that underpin good decision making

To be successful in this role:

  • A proven track record of experience and achievement in an analytics role, using complex information
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
  • Experience mentoring and/or coaching others
  • Experience facilitating workshops, including the collation and documentation of their outcomes
  • Strong understanding of process analysis and modelling methodologies
  • Ability to translate complex ideas into potential solutions
