- Contract Opportunity: Senior Data Scientist
- Location: Auckland
- Rate: $1450 per day
- Duration: 4 months (through to the end of the year) — with a very strong likelihood of extension

Are you a data science leader ready to make a big impact in a short timeframe? We’re looking for a Senior Data Scientist to spearhead our AI Ops initiatives and help us push the boundaries of what’s possible with machine learning and large language models (LLMs).
This is a rare chance to take on a high-impact contract role where you’ll shape AI-driven solutions, mentor talent, and deliver real business transformation.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing and implementing machine learning models to enhance AI operations and performance.
- Leveraging LLMs to unlock new opportunities (experience here is a big plus!).
- Working with cross-functional teams to turn business needs into smart, data-driven solutions.
- Analyzing large datasets to extract meaningful insights for decision-making.
- Running experiments to validate models and improve operational processes.
- Overseeing AI models in production to ensure they run smoothly and effectively.
- Presenting complex findings in a clear and compelling way to stakeholders.
- Staying ahead of the curve with emerging AI/ML trends and technologies.
- Mentoring junior data scientists and setting best-practice standards.
What We’re Looking For
- 7–10 years of experience in data science with a strong ML/AI background.
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Strong skills in Python, R, or Scala, with deep experience using Pandas, NumPy, etc.
- Hands-on experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
- Comfortable with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and big data tools (Spark, Hadoop).
- Skilled in data visualization (e.g., Tableau, Matplotlib).
- Excellent communicator — able to make technical insights clear and actionable.
