This is a rare opportunity for a Domestic Services Manager at the Kakanui Point property, 2421 Kaipara Coast Highway, Kaukapakapa involving the management of the domestic cleaning and maintenance of the buildings of the Farm.
This includes the cleaning, security and maintenance of furnishings and all other property within the buildings to the required standards and specifications. The maintenance of the immediate decks, swimming pool, paved areas and outdoor furniture is also required.
When required the Domestic Services Manager will supervise staff, contractors and arrange catering at the farm. The management of summer activities, communications and related administration is the responsibility of the Domestic Services Manager.
This is a permanent full-time position.
The Domestic Services Manager will implement work plans and projects approved by the General Manager on an annual basis and will be reviewed regularly. In the implementation of these projects the role will communicate and liaise closely with the General Manager, staff, and contractors.
Key responsibilities will be to clean, tidy and service four residences, swimming pool buildings, the Lodge, Boat Shed and any future buildings to agreed standards.
This position reports to the General Manager and is based at the farm. This position is responsible for the supervision of permanent staff and contractors approved by the General Manager, engaged to complete projects.
The role works with the horticultural, livestock, housekeeping, general maintenance and mechanical staff to ensure essential services are provided and maintained in an effective manner.
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
- Be a good organiser with proven ability in household management and administration
- Proven domestic cleaning capability, attention to detail and domestic presentation skills
- Practical experience in maintenance of appliances and domestic equipment
- Hospitality experience and wine and food knowledge
- Excellent command of written and spoken English including appropriate etiquette
- Communication and personal presentation skills
- Ability to use initiative and work independently when required
- Flexibility
ADMINISTRATION
- Maintenance of time sheets, invoicing, record keeping and administration of housekeeping functions to agreed guidelines.
KEY ACTIVITIES
- Maintain stock of household supplies.
- Supervision of staff and contractors including all aspects of the Health and Safety in Workplace Act.
- Pest control management inside residences and other buildings.
- Valet and refuel motor vehicle fleet as required.
- Report regularly to General Manager on progress achieving project milestones.
The Domestic Services Manager will need to be able to work effectively as part of the farm park team and with minimum supervision. The ability to perform a range of practical skills safely and effectively is also important.
A current motor vehicle license is required. Ability to drive a farm 4WD quad motorcycle is an advantage and instruction will be provided.
