The Company
This is a small/medium scaffolding business that has been in operation for a number of years. Built on relationships and quality servicing, they have built strong brand awareness in the market. They service mainly residential construction build projects but have several key large commercial customers ensuring regular business. They have a current staff compliment of 12 with ticketed scaffolders as well as apprentices. The owner is looking for an energised GM to step aboard and manage the daily operations and management of this business.
This is a perfect opportunity for a senior manager with strong knowledge and experience within the scaffolding industry to take the lead and drive this business forward through its next phase.
The Role
The key focus in this role will be:
- Supporting the owner with strategic responsibilities such as business plan and targets
- Help grow the business and take responsibility for budget management and quarterly/annual results
- Take control of all quoting and pricing as well as invoicing
- Ensure sales and future work pipeline opportunity is sighted and secured, particularly with residential builders.
- Ensure customer relationships are managed and grown
- Manage suppliers and identify any new suppliers required
- Ensure staff are appropriate supported with training, development and all apprentices are receiving their training programmes
- Promote a strong H&S culture and ensure all staff fully trained and adhere to company H&S policies
- Assume responsibility for maintenance and purchasing of materials and equipment.
Your Background
What we are looking for is an experienced manager in the scaffolding industry with all current NZ Scaffolding tickets at least to an Intermediate level
Key attributes require you to understand the scaffolding market and offer insight. You come with a technology bend with experience in financial tools such as Xero and ability to enhance systems using technology. You possess strong strategic agility as well as strong business and commercial acumen. You can spot the opportunities and understand the profitability through accurate pricing in light of any risks.
You take a 100% customer centric approach and act with speed to address any customer issues or concerns. You have a demonstrated ability to guide, mentor and nurture staff building a collaborative culture. You can tackle problems; you listen and take a win/win approach for all parties.
You are results driven and are keen to be take the helm with an exciting leadership challenge.
The Package
On offer is Salary of $145K - $155K + Vehicle + Bonus/KPI package, plus potential profit share
