As part of the ongoing commitment and safety to the region whilst providing these opportunities, Auckland Unlimited are currently looking for their next General Manager Security and Visitor Safety to continue to drive these activities in a safe and welcoming environment.

The role:

The GM Security and Visitor Safety is a key role supporting the Director, ensuring all venues are a safe and a welcome environment for employees and visitors, whilst ensuring the property and contents within are secure. You will be driving the strategy across the portfolio to improve risk identification, management, and monitoring. With 4 experienced direct reports and a large team, you will manage key stakeholders ensuring policies, procedures and the general security culture is enhanced.

This is an executive role that will require the successful individual to be able to operate in an autonomous environment, handling several projects across the organisation whilst ensuring past, present, and future security risks, are identified, and managed in accordance with the strategic policies and procedures that have been designed.

To do this you will hold the key relationship with third party contractors, understand the cogs that need to turn, and empower your team to ensure a harmonious and effective environment that delivers high quality services the venues and visitors alike.

About You:

You will be an experienced security specialist with a military or policing background, ideally with a tertiary qualification of relevance along with the required security qualification. You will have refined your skills and experience in a corporate environment and looking to make the next move in your career.

  • CAPEX and OPEX Management
  • Vendor management experience
  • Event security and crowd management skills especially in relation to crowded places

Above all this role will require you to be a thought leader across the NZ Security community, accustomed to advising at an executive level across a broad range of environments.
