The HRBP is responsible for highlighting business needs to ensure people initiatives and services are commercial, fit-for-purpose and operationally excellent.

You will coach and mentor members of the people team and senior leaders within the business.

Your primary focus is to deliver the highest quality, valued support, and strategic guidance across people and organisation within your portfolio.

Guide senior leaders to consider and set objectives aligned with the organisation’s strategy, appropriate change programmes, and people development within budget and long-term business plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Senior Leaders
  • Deliver comprehensive strategic advice and direction
  • Lead the development, tracking and reporting on the people plan for your portfolio
  • Be a trusted advisor and key contributing member of your portfolio’s senior leadership team
  • Apply a data and insight-based approach
  • Identify innovative People practices and drive a culture of innovation
  • Apply strong problem-solving skills

Key Skills:

  • Ability to understand business challenges and translate into commercial guidance and advice
  • Comprehensive understanding and application of NZ employment law, HR policies and procedures and their implementation
  • Knowledge and skills dealing with Employment Relations/Trade Unions bargaining procedures
  • Understanding and knowledge of the principles of Organisation Development initiatives and change management
  • Diagnostic and analytical ability
  • Strong interpersonal skills and situational awareness. Builds relationships across the hierarchy with ease. High coaching and influencing skills
