The QS team is a team of 3 and each QS will financially manage their own projects with hand on support and oversight from the commercial manager. Being able to work independently whilst ensuring open communication channels for feedback and professional development is central to how they operate.
As a QS your development will be enhanced through end-to-end exposure from job inception through to final accounts.
You will take the lead with tasks including:
- Estimating/cost planning and measuring general, carpentry and concrete trades
- Tender procurement, preparation and analysis,
- Budget estimates, cost management
- Variation analysis, budget and cost reporting
- Subcontractor payment claim assessments
- Final accounts
- Stakeholder management and client engagement
- A tertiary qualification in construction management or quantity surveying
- 4- 7 years’ experience worked as a hands-on QS in a Tier 2 or 3 main contractor ideally
- Sound knowledge of the local construction market and relevant commercial construction legislation and rates
- Being well organised, able to drive outcomes and meet payment deadlines
- A relationship focused personality and able to liaise effectively with stakeholders particularly sub-contractors
- Outstanding written and oral communication
