This group home builder has been one of the most successful capitalising on a strong residential market over many years. They have franchises throughout the North Island with Wellington being one of their newest. They work with private clients as well as Kainga Ora with social housing and Kiwi build. It is a brand recognised for quality in design and are at the high end of the group home building market. The company have great support systems, strong trade and supplier relationships, and a cohesive team culture.
They now need to identify an intermediate /senior QS to lead the estimating and commercial function of the business and be an incremental part in driving results for this particular franchise.
Reporting to the Owner, your role involves:

Procurement/estimating

Working in close partnership with owner/project managers

Contract administration
- Financial reporting and variations, project cost controls, reviewing project forecasts/work in progress
- Orders preparation
- Supplier management/negotiating high level contracts
- Setting up and/or advising on systems as required, developing and setting up pricing models for developments including forecasting and back costing
Key background:
- 6 + years of residential/group home builder experience including knowledge of NZ construction processes, exposure to high density multi-unit would be ideal
- Tertiary qualified in quantity surveying
- Outstanding communication and leadership skills
- Strong NZ Building Code knowledge
- Strong financial nous and business acumen
- Experienced in using cost management software such as Cost X
- Accuracy
