We are looking for a high-performing Principal Policy Advisor. Come and join a small but agile Ministry – which is perfect if you are after a chance to make differernce and make a role your own!
You will be advising the Government on how transport choice can enable well-functioning towns, cities and regions, and support great places and communities.
The team plays a crucial role in delivering the Government’s ambitions for cities. This involves integrating approaches to transport policy on matters such as inclusive access, lowering emissions and investment, with priorities for land use, urban growth, resource management and placemaking.
The Principal Advisor will influence, create and maintain strong working relationships with a number of central and local government agencies, and other important stakeholders.
Being Auckland based, this role will have particular focus on placemaking and urban development challenges that our largest urban centre faces. There will be emphasis on helping the sector to achieve some bold emission reduction challenges through urban design and street changes, and influencing and incentivising Aucklanders to take up more active and shared modes of transport.
