• Principal Front-End Software Engineer

Are you a seasoned front-end developer with strong leadership skills and a passion for building scalable, high-performing web applications? We’re looking for a Principal Front-End Software Engineer to lead and shape the front-end architecture of a dynamic organisation undergoing exciting digital transformation.

As the Principal Front-End Software Engineer, you'll take ownership of the front-end technical strategy, mentor a small but talented team, and ensure the delivery of robust, maintainable, and modern web solutions. Your contributions will directly impact the user experience and help drive innovation across a suite of internal applications in a financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the front-end development strategy aligned with the organisation’s digital goals
• Own and evolve the front-end software architecture to ensure performance, scalability, and maintainability
• Mentor and guide a team of front-end developers, promoting best practices and continuous improvement
• Prioritise front-end repositories and manage commits to maintain an efficient codebase
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver complex solutions
• Evaluate and introduce modern tools and frameworks to enhance productivity and quality

Skills & Experience Required:

• Expert in JavaScript/TypeScript, ReactJS, NextJS, and modern front-end frameworks
• Experience with build tools such as Webpack, Babel, esbuild
• Proficient with front-end testing tools (e.g., Vitest, Playwright, Jest, Testing Library)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing integration
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Proven mentoring developers and driving architectural decisions
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
