Beyond Recruitment is supporting the Ministry of Education in finding a Procurement Coordinator to join their Infrastructure and Digital Team for a fixed-term contract.

Te Puna Hanganga, Matihiko | Infrastructure & Digital – Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga | Ministry of Education, leads inclusive, accessible and integrated national, digital and physical infrastructure and transport services to the education system.

The Infrastructure Procurement team deliver procurement activities for Ministry led school construction projects across New Zealand, these projects equate to $300m (approx) in construction spend per year. The projects include new schools, school rebuilds, major/minor redevelopments, addressing roll growth needs, weather-tightness remediation, structural strengthening and minor works.

As the Procurement Coordinator you will provide support to the Procurement Manager and Procurement Leaders in the delivery of procurement processes to engage construction and consultant services for the region.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating the receipt, checking and processing of all procurement requests through the use of workflow tools and other registers
  • Supporting the 'end to end' delivery of scheduled procurement activities
  • Maintaining procurement activity registers
  • Managing various procurement email accounts
  • Ensuring accurate procurement data is collated and distributed in a timely fashion

You will bring to this role:

  • Strong administration knowledge
  • The ability to produce programme correspondence, proofread for grammar, spelling and punctuation with a high degree of accuracy
  • Computer skills including spreadsheet and word processing programs, at a highly proficient level
  • Knowledge and experience of a variety of computing platforms including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Gnatt charts
  • The ability to work with a wide range of people
