Project Engineer

This Main Contractor has a fine reputation for building larger social infrastructure, commercial, industrial & multi residential projects. They have several $40M - $200M projects under construction with teams busy delivering for their institutional and private clients.

They now have a position open for a Site/Project Engineer to oversee the design and building specifications across one of their large flagship projects.

Your key duties will entail:

* Managing shop drawing process for precast concrete; structural steel;
* Design review 
* Issuing RFI’s; correspondence with architect and engineers
* Performing engineering inspections
* Managing/closing out engineer’s site reports
* Managing health and safety 
* Ensuring design and construction is in line with contract specifications


To be considered for this role you will have between 8+ years experience in a site role since graduation. You have a relevant engineering tertiary qualification combined with experience on a New Zealand or Australian commercial building construction site. You may have an NZCE or NZDE and be currently working for a contractor and looking for your next career step. Of most interest is your involvement in projects from a structural perspective.

We are looking for an ambitious, enthusiastic and smart 'hands on' operator. You are a strong problem solver and can offer in depth technical advice. You can get things done efficiently through others and prefer to work 'on the coal face'.

Salary for this role: $140K - $160K
