Are you looking for a role where you can use your analytical skills to support the group in making sound decisions on transportation investments? The Senior Investment Analyst will work as an integral part of the Metlink’s Strategy and Investment team to provide robust investment analysis and advice on key Regional Public Transport investments decisions. The role will ensure all Metlink investment decisions maximise economic, social and environmental benefits while aligning to Greater Wellington’s priorities and goals.
The successful candidate will be partnering with the business groups to achieve their strategic goals. This role makes a real contribution to the Wellington region and nationally in three keyways:
- Reducing the carbon footprint of public transportation in Wellington and therefore nationally
- It encourages people to move from cars to cleaner modes of transport
- It works to improve the experience, convenience, efficiency and overall amenities of public transport
What is expected of the SIA:
- Critically reviewing all major investment business cases that will impact the operations. Present high grade advice / reports to the Leadership Team on expected cost-benefits, future opportunities and associated risks
- Working with various stakeholders, including finance to undertake various financial and non-financial business modelling
- Build a ‘portfolio view’ of all investment decisions to ensure economic, social and environment benefits are maximised within investment / budget constraints
- Coordinate external funding systems and processes
- Undertake analysis which supports longer term business strategies and planning
- Drive future business performance and sustainability
Qualifications and experience required:
- An appropriate tertiary qualification, preferably in a commercial, financial or scientific discipline
- Significant experience in undertaking economic and cost / benefit modelling
- Advanced excel skills with experience in economic modelling software advantageous
- Experience in business forecasting, commercial strategy development and analytical insights
