This is a significant Auckland based government organisation that has a sizable level of work coming through for 2020. They are ramping up and need to increase their project management team at a senior level.
The role will see you providing project management services for the design and construction of multiple capital work refurbishments, new build commercial projects, civil projects such as waste water and electrical substations. You will be given responsiblity to run projects across the entire process as well as engaging with numerous stakeholders throughout the business.
In line with your level of experience, you will be preparing business cases to initiate project funding, assisting in overseeing and implementing the procurement design and contractor tender processes. You will continue to manage and track design feasibilities and any design issues through to construction phase. Other role responsibilities include approval of consultants and contractors, budgets, setting programme, programme management, reporting, cost management and variations.
As a project manager, you will need to come from the construction industry either from a consultancy or client-side background with 8 + years of NZ based experience. Experience and/or knowledge gained within the public sector is preferred either working via a consultancy or another public sector organisation, especially healthcare projects. A tertiary qualification in Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, Building Science, or Engineering is essential. Being well organised with a proactive attitude and with excellent client/stakeholder management skills is essential. Ideally you are a senior but might be an ambitious intermediate looking for better career growth.
You will be rewarded with a salary between $150K and $170K depending on experience.
