Our client is a fast-growing Kiwi tech business with global ambitions. Their innovative SaaS platform is changing the way vessels and crews operate—making life at sea safer, simpler, and more compliant. With international expansion underway, they are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to play a pivotal role in scaling their product and technology.
The Role
As Senior Full Stack Engineer, you’ll take ownership across the entire development lifecycle—design, architecture, coding, testing, and support. Based in Takapuna, Auckland (with flexible hybrid options), you’ll join a high-performing engineering team where you can make a real impact.
You’ll lead on major features, mentor other developers, and work closely with the leadership team to shape product direction and technical strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain cross-platform applications with React, React Native, and NodeJS
- Build scalable microservices and databases on Firebase & Google Cloud Platform
- Design and prototype new features and components
- Own significant features end-to-end, ensuring quality and scalability
- Debug, test, and release software with excellence
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to code reviews
- Collaborate with leadership to influence roadmap and architecture
You’ll bring proven experience building scalable, cloud-based applications and be confident across both frontend and backend technologies.
Key skills include:
- JavaScript, TypeScript, NodeJS
- React / React Native
- Strong database knowledge (SQL & NoSQL)
- Solid understanding of UX/UI principles
- Familiarity with Agile practices and excellent communication skills
