Job Description.

We are seeking an experienced Security Systems Engineer with strong firewall and network security expertise to join a specialised technology services partner supporting clients across a range of sectors, including health and the public sector.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering secure and reliable network environments for a variety of high-impact clients. You’ll act as both a technical escalation point and a project delivery lead, while mentoring others and continuing to develop your own skills in an evolving security landscape.

What You'll Do

• Provide advanced support and act as a senior escalation point across network security environments.
• Design, configure, and deploy firewall and network solutions across client environments.
• Participate in project delivery, including migrations, upgrades, and greenfield implementations.
• Work closely with internal engineers, project managers, and client stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
• Support knowledge sharing and skill development across the engineering team.
• Continually grow your own capabilities through training and hands-on learning opportunities.

What You Bring

• 5+ years’ experience in network infrastructure and firewall deployment, ideally across both wired and wireless environments.
• Proven hands-on experience with one or more leading firewall platforms, such as:

 Palo Alto, Fortinet, Juniper, Sophos, Cisco, Checkpoint

• Other Networking and Cloud exposure within F5, Aruba, AWS, GCP, Azure, Rukus is highly desirable.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities, particularly in complex network and connectivity environments.
• Comfortable engaging directly with clients, including translating technical detail into accessible language.
• Certifications such as PCNSA, NSE 4, CCNA, or CCNP are valued, but not essential where strong practical experience exists.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive, client-focused mindset.
