- Contract Opportunity – Azure Kubernetes Fleet Manager
- Location: Auckland
- Duration: 6 Months (with strong potential for extension)
- Rate: Competitive Daily/Hourly Rate (Depending on experience)
Are you an expert in Azure Kubernetes (AKS) with multi-cluster management experience?
Our client, a leading Fintech business, they are looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer or Platform Specialist with hands-on experience in Azure Kubernetes Fleet Manager.
This is an exciting contract role where you’ll be driving architecture, deployment, and automation of large-scale, multi-cluster Kubernetes environments using Azure’s latest fleet management capabilities.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the implementation of Azure Kubernetes Fleet Manager (hub + member clusters)
- Design update strategies across environments (e.g., dev → staging → prod)
- Automate fleet-wide config syncs
- Set up networking, load balancing, and DNS routing across clusters
- Work closely with internal DevOps, SRE, and security teams to build scalable, secure systems
- Provide documentation, tooling, and knowledge transfer to internal stakeholders
- 5+ years in DevOps / Cloud Infrastructure roles
- Strong hands-on experience with AKS and Fleet Manager
- Expertise in Terraform, Azure CLI, and scripting (PowerShell, Bash)
- Comfortable managing multi-cluster Kubernetes environments
- Strong understanding of Azure networking, RBAC, and identity integration
Nice to have:
- Azure certifications (AZ-104 / AZ-305 / AZ-400)
- Experience with GitOps (e.g. ArgoCD, Flux)
- Familiarity with service mesh (Istio, Linkerd)
- Work on cutting-edge Azure technologies
- Engage with a forward-thinking engineering team
- Contract with a potential pathway to extension or permanent opportunities
