This one of NZ largest developers in the aged care industry that perform their own construction with several of their villages either completed or under construction throughout NZ. Looking forward, they have acquired land allowing for a strong programme of future work within this booming industry. They have one of their flagship projects which has commenced and with several stages ahead and with a 2-year remaining build programme till full completion. They are now looking to provide closer commercial/cost management with necessary interactions on the ground with the PM and site team requiring the need for an intermediate QS.
Supported by a Senior QS, the role will see you managing the commercial elements of the project and includes, preparing, monitoring and updating costs against budgets/forecasts, assisting the project manager with the administrative functions of the project, supplier/sub contractor cost management, progress claims and variations, contractual management, and with dual reporting lines to finance and regional management. The best fit for this position will be an Intermediate QS operating in commercial construction space and with at least 5 years QS experience possessing a proven history of working on projects above $20M. The ability to juggle multiple priorities, problem solve and deal in arising disputes is essential. You can easily converse a range of stakeholders, especially sub-contractors using your decisive personality. Your organisational skills are exemplary and as well is your work ethic.
