We are seeking a Digital Solution Architect to join a leading technology consultancy delivering complex cloud and integration solutions for large-scale programmes. This is an opportunity to work on high-impact projects, guiding senior stakeholders and shaping digital transformation across critical environments.

What You’ll Do

• Own solution architecture for cloud, hybrid, and integration projects centred on Microsoft Azure.
• Translate business, regulatory, and security needs into reference architectures and actionable designs.
• Produce functional and non-functional designs, architecture decision records, and roadmaps aligned with government digital strategies and well-architected frameworks.
• Lead design reviews, risk assessments, and assurance gates; resolve complex Azure and hybrid issues spanning identity, integration, data, and security.
• Collaborate with partner vendors and internal squads to deliver end-to-end outcomes.
• Mentor architects and engineers; contribute reusable patterns and thought leadership to our Architecture Community of Practice.

Skills and Experience

Essential:

• 5+ years’ architecture experience in New Zealand (or other Five-Eyes countries), focused on Azure or hybrid platforms.
• Proven success delivering solutions into Wellington’s public-sector ecosystem (e.g., familiarity with NZISM, GCIO guidelines, AoG procurement).
• Depth in application integration, identity, API management, infrastructure-as-code, and automated compliance testing.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills—able to brief CIOs and programme boards with confidence.

Desirable:

• Exposure to AWS, M365, Dynamics 365, or Power Platform in government contexts.
• TOGAF / SAFe certifications; Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• Security or privacy-engineering certifications (CISSP, ISO 27001).
