Opportunity to lead stakeholder engagement in key policy areas and communicating the EMA's positioning to its members by presenting at EMA briefings.
The primary purpose is to build and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and present the EMA’s positioning to influence their decision-making or create a wider understanding of our members’ views.
This requires development of messaging, deciding policy positions and ensuring those messages and positions are communicated through all existing channels to members, government ministers, officials and other relevant stakeholders.
In addition to government relations, there is a specific focus on engaging with EMA members, business leaders and the wider business community, including speaking at events (briefings), creating thought leadership content and acting as a media spokesperson when required. This role will need to be an authority on various issues as the voice of business.
The key strengths required will be engagement and communication, presentation skills, with a strong ability to learn the policy and policy positions - this area will be fully supported.
Overall, the role will seek to influence and change the policy framework for New Zealand business and enhance the success of New Zealand enterprises, through relationships and advocacy.
