About the Role
As the Development Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping technical solutions that align with bold creative visions. You’ll collaborate closely with frontend developers, designers, and producers to bring ideas to life, ensuring robust architecture, clean code, and seamless integration across platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support backend developers across multiple projects
- Architect scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative digital experiences
- Drive best practices in development workflows, code reviews, and documentation
- Contribute to technical strategy and decision-making
You’re an experienced backend developer with a passion for creative technology and a knack for solving complex problems. You bring strong technical leadership, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative mindset.
Your Experience Includes:
- 8+ years in backend development within agency or commercial environments
- Expertise in Python (and some PHP), API development, and authentication flows
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms (Google Cloud, AWS, Azure)
- Familiarity with secure coding practices (e.g. OWASP)
- Proficiency with Git and command-line tools
- Solid grasp of frontend technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript)
- Excellent documentation and presentation skills
- Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Personal website or portfolio showcasing your work
- Contributions to open-source projects
- CMS frameworks (e.g. Django, Wagtail, Drupal)
- SQL databases (e.g. Postgres, MySQL)
- Frontend frameworks (e.g. React, Angular)
- DevOps tools and practices (e.g. Docker, CI/CD, Terraform)
