This larger employer is ramping up for some significant residential and multi residential builds into 2022. The level of development and redevelopment is substantial. The build portfolio is mainly stand-alone, terraced housing and walk-ups.
Cost management is critical and the ability to add value throughout the life cycle of multiple residential projects is required. They need a switched-on Intermediate Level QS who will assist the Senior QS through the cost management cycle.
The role would see you evaluating submissions, examining the feasibility of projects in terms of cost from the design phase and liaising with finance working within their business parameters. You would be offering ideas for savings, negotiating prices and ensuring the business is not being misled by contractors.
The role has also a post contract element with contract administration, qualifying costs after consenting and advising on saving through variation reviews. You will also be working with external PQS's hand in hand. They have in Cost X as a system.
This role requires a tertiary qualified local candidate that has 6 + years experience worked on the client or consultancy side predominantly. Residential and commercial residential builds project experience will be favourable but not essential. The role requires liaising across number of stakeholders in the business as well as their build partners.
The role reports to a senior and is for 12 months initially with very high likelihood of going permanent. Opportunities exist across development and project management, so there is potential to move over to these areas with the current and future levels of work pipeline.
Rate: $55 - $70 per hour.
